The perfect podcast for championship race season.
I caught up with my friend and former University of Tennessee track teammate Hassaan Stamps to chat about living a life dedicated to running.
Hassaan was a nationally ranked 400m hurdler in high school who rocketed to success as a five-time All-American sprinter while at UT. His performance contributions and amazing energy helped carry the UT Volunteers to two National Championship team titles. We took what little side time Hassaan has as a busy assistant coach/recruiting coordinator of the men's and women's sprints, hurdles and relays at ETSU to talk about transitioning from athlete to coach. He's trained under and trained with many of the best coaches and runners in world history. You can literally hear athletes working hard in the background of this podcast while Hassaan finishes work duties and multitasks the podcast. He offers up some fresh insight into how he's been coaching world class sprinters to success all over the world.
We talk on everything from creating a cohesive high-level team environment to watching our peers excel as Olympic Gold Medal sprinters who eventually got caught doping.
